Overswing
Privacy Policy
The game itself collects nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and nothing about you is sent to us. Your progress stays on your device unless you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, which saves it to your own Google account.
What is collected is collected by Google: your advertising identifier, used and shared to show you ads, your purchases, handled by Google Play, and, only if you sign in, your game progress, kept in your Google account. We chose to include Google's advertising, so that collection is ours to tell you about.
Who is responsible
Overswinggames, Italy, is the data controller for the decision to show advertising in this app. Google LLC is the controller for the advertising data it collects and for what it does with it afterwards.
Contact: info@overswing.games
What is collected, and by whom
- Advertising ID: collected and shared by Google AdMob to select and measure the ads shown in the app, and shared with its advertising partners. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Purchases: handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Play tells the app what you own so it can unlock it; we never see a card number, a name or a billing address, and no purchase information is sent to us.
- Game progress, only if you sign in: saved to your Google account by Google Play Games Services so it follows you to a new phone. It is not shared with anyone, it is used for nothing but restoring your game, and we have no access to it. Signing in is optional, and the switch in the game's settings turns the saving off.
- The full-game counter, only if you press the button asking to be told when the full game is out: the game sends one empty request to a small counter we run on Cloudflare. It carries no identifier and nothing about you or your game; the counter adds one to a total and to that hour's tally, and keeps nothing else. As with any connection, your IP address reaches Cloudflare to deliver the request; we do not store it, and Cloudflare handles it under its own privacy policy.
Nothing else. No location, no contacts, no photos, no files, and no identifier of you that this app creates.
Data kept on your device
Your progress is written to a file inside the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Android's own backup is enabled for this app, so that file is copied to your Google Drive and restored if you reinstall or change phone. We have no access to it.
Uninstalling removes the copy on the phone. The backup in your Drive is yours to delete, from your Google account's backup settings. Uninstalling does not remove it.
If you sign in with Play Games, a second copy of your progress lives in your Google account and follows it between phones. It exists only after you sign in, the switch in the game's settings stops it, and it is Google that holds it, in your name: see Google's privacy policy for how to see and delete the data in your account.
Legal basis
- Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for advertising that uses your advertising identifier. This is what the message on first launch asks for. You may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing does not affect the lawfulness of anything processed before you did.
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for in-app purchases: without processing the purchase we could not give you what you bought.
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) also for the cloud save: it exists only because you asked for it by signing in, and without writing your progress to your account there would be nothing to restore. Signing out, or the switch in the settings, ends it.
Advertising and profiling
Personalised ads work by building a profile against your advertising identifier. That profiling is done by Google and its partners, not by us, and only if you consent to it. It has no legal or similarly significant effect on you: it decides which advertisement you are shown, and nothing about the game changes because of it.
Your right to object to personalised ads
You can stop personalised advertising at any time, in any of these ways. None of them need anything from us.
- In the game's settings, by reopening the consent message and changing your answer.
- In your phone's settings, under Google and then Ads, where you can turn personalisation off or delete your advertising identifier entirely.
- At Google Ad Settings, which applies across your devices.
- Through the advertising industry's own tools: Your Online Choices in Europe, the Network Advertising Initiative, or the Digital Advertising Alliance and its AppChoices app.
Turning personalisation off does not remove the ads. It makes them less relevant.
If you are in California or another US state
Sharing your advertising identifier with advertising partners counts as sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, and as targeted advertising under the privacy laws of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other states. You have the right to opt out of it, and the controls in the section above are how you do so, and they work everywhere, not only in Europe. We do not sell personal information for money.
Permissions the app asks for
- Internet and network state: to load ads and complete purchases. The game's only request of its own is the full-game counter described above, sent when you press its button.
- Notifications: to remind you that your daily coins are ready, if you allow it. Your phone schedules the reminder; nothing is sent anywhere and no server is involved.
- Vibration: for haptic feedback, which you can turn off in the settings.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob, as described above.
The app asks for no location, camera, microphone, contacts or access to your files.
Where data is processed
Advertising data is processed by Google LLC, which operates outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. We rely on Google's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and on the Standard Contractual Clauses where that framework does not apply. Google publishes both, with copies of the clauses, in its advertising data processing terms.
How long it is kept
Nothing about you is kept by us: the full-game counter keeps only its totals. How long Google retains advertising data, and how to have it deleted, is set out in Google's privacy policy and controlled from your Google account. The cloud save lives in your Google account for as long as you keep it there, and is deleted from the same place.
Security
The Google SDKs encrypt the requests they make. The file holding your progress lives in the app's private storage, which other apps on the phone cannot read. We store nothing ourselves.
Children
This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child's data has reached the advertising components, write to info@overswing.games and we will ask Google to delete it and tell you when it has been done. You can also delete the advertising identifier immediately from the phone's settings, which severs the link at once.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access your data, to correct it, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form.
Because the advertising data is held by Google rather than by us, the fastest route is Google's own privacy tools, which let you see, download and delete it. Write to us and we will pass your request to Google and tell you what came of it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or the authority in your own country.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what is collected or why, you will be asked again the next time you open the game.
